UAE firms face AED6k a month fines for not hiring Emiratis
The UAE Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE) has urged private-sector companies to reach their Emiratisation targets by the end of 2022. If companies fail to comply, they will face financial penalties. Companies with over 50 employees must ensure that 2 percent of their employees are Emirati before 2023. The move is in line with the government’s Nafis initiative. Private sector companies that fail to achieve the target must pay a penalty of AED6,000 a month for each Emirati it fails to hire.
